Below is some background information into each of the Artists who provided us with these Limited Edition Prints.

Brian Wheeler

Born in Nantyglo, Brian has lived in the Nantyglo and Brynmawr area of Blaenau Gwent all his life.

A recently retired college accountancy lecturer, Brian started painting in the summer of 1996. He is predominantly a landscape artist who enjoys depicting the countryside in and around South and West Wales.

Working in watercolour and or pastel and occasionally acrylic Brian attempts to capture the elusive qualities of mood, atmosphere and light in his landscapes.

Brian has sold paintings in a number of group and solo exhibitions in South Wales, including a very prestigious showing of his paintings to H.R.H Prince of Wales in November 2006.

Demand for Brianís paintings has increased significantly in recent years. Much of his work is owned by private patrons in countries including Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, France, Ireland, England and, of course, Wales.

Brian is currently tutor to the Ebbw Fach Creative club, a newly formed art group whose members meet on a weekly basis.

Brian is a Founder Member of The Eastern Valley Artists (E.V.A.). This is an organisation or professional and semi-professional artists who exhibit in prestigious venues throughout South Wales.

Bert Westacott

Bert is a local artist who lives in Tredegar and most of the work shown here has a local theme, the historic Tredegar Town Clock for example which celebrates the centenary of Aneurin Bevan's birth. Bert is retired and is very passionate about his work he has worked on a commission to celebrate the Tredegar Orpheus centenary in 2009.
